7 Minute Workout App

The 7 Minute Workout app has been gaining popularity steadily since physiologist Chris Jordan shared it with the world last year, and for good reason: it fits into just about any schedule, consists of 12 simple exercises that require only your own body weight, a wall and a chair, and research shows that it can boost metabolism, fight weight gain and increase longevity.

This official app from the good folks at Johnson & Johnson does a great job of taking you through this scientifically formulated, high-intensity circuit training programme. You can follow along by watching Jordan perform each exercise on screen, or simply listen to the instructions and beeping timer, and concentrate only on your performance.

If you need some tunes to help keep your head in the game, just pull up your favourite playlists within the app. And if you've actually got more time on your hands, the app can suggest a smart workout based on your fitness level that can take you through two or more cycles of exercises.
